Identity. Thymosin alpha1 (thymalfasin) is the N-acetylated 28-residue thymic peptide sequenced by Goldstein and colleagues. In research (medical). It modulates innate and adaptive immune pathways in cell systems; an injectable finished drug (Zadaxin) is approved in some countries outside a broad US indication set.
