What it is
ARA-290 (also discussed in the literature under the name cibinetide for the pyroglutamate form) is a short synthetic peptide. This listing is a research solid. It is a different molecule from erythropoietin.
Structure and sequence
Linear surface sequence reported by Brines et al.: QEQLERALNSS. The pyroglutamate form is a chemical variant of the N-terminus and should be confirmed on the certificate.
Molecular weight
Mass depends on whether the N-terminus is glutamine or pyroglutamate. Use the certificate of analysis for the lot mass.
What published research models study
The 2008 PNAS paper distinguishes this peptide from erythropoietic EPO-receptor homodimer signalling and maps binding toward an EPO-receptor / beta-common-receptor complex in the models those authors used. That is receptor and model context, not a catalog claim.

Storage and handling
Supplied as a lyophilized solid in a sealed vial unless the catalog row states another format. Recommended storage is −20 °C. Trained laboratory personnel should handle the vial with appropriate personal protective equipment. Identity, purity, salt form, and lot-specific notes belong on the certificate of analysis, which is available on request.
